NSU Track and Field Star Keontae Gaines Secures Two Golds and Sets Conference Record

Birmingham, AL (2/26/2024) – Alexandria’s track sensation, Keontae Gaines, lit up the SLC Indoor Track and Field Championship, representing Northwestern State University (NSU) with an awe-inspiring performance.

Gaines showcased his blazing speed by clinching two gold medals and rewriting the conference record books. In the 60-meter dash, he blazed across the finish line in a remarkable 6.68 seconds, claiming his first gold of the day.

Undeterred, Gaines continued his dominance in the 200-meter race, shattering the field with a blistering time of 20.72 seconds, establishing a new conference meet record and securing his second gold medal of the competition.
