BOYCE, LA (4/13/2024) — On Wednesday, April 9, 2024, Northwood High School welcomed local author Gloria Williams for a special visit with second grade students.
Williams read from her children’s book, Cindy Takes the Wind, which tells the uplifting story of Cindy Lou—a young girl learning to embrace her uniqueness and live true to herself.
The book carries a powerful message about self-acceptance and identity.
Mrs. Amy Clark shared event details with UrbanCast. Mrs Clark and Mrs. Labiche’s second grade class took part in the reading, with support from school librarian Mrs. Eddlemon. The visit was an inspiring moment for students and staff alike.
Mrs. Williams, a resident of nearby Boyce, LA, is known for her community involvement and passion for youth empowerment through storytelling.
