NATCHITOCHES, La. (5/10/2026) — A Natchitoches homicide investigation is underway after officers discovered a man fatally shot inside an overturned vehicle Saturday evening on Grace Avenue.
According to the Natchitoches Police Department, officers responded around 5:22 p.m. on May 9, 2026, to reports of gunshots near Grace Avenue and Dixie Street.
When officers arrived, they located an overturned vehicle in the 1400 block of Grace Avenue. Inside the vehicle, officers found 20-year-old Michael Leslie of Many suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately began rendering aid while additional first responders arrived at the scene. However, the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office later pronounced Leslie deceased.
Following the shooting, detectives and officers interviewed several witnesses. Investigators also collected physical and digital evidence connected to the case.
Authorities said all recovered evidence will be submitted to the crime lab for further analysis.
Meanwhile, the investigation remains active. The Natchitoches Police Department said additional details will be released as they become available.
