Alexandria, LA (8/23/2024) – A tragic homicide on Monroe Street has left many residents concerned about their safety. UrbanCast/involvedinitall.com obtained a chaotic video recorded on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 7:46 PM CST, showing the aftermath of a shooting.
The video reveals a male victim lying facedown on the ground, reportedly in critical condition after being shot. A voice in the video mentioned that the victim was still breathing.
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) responded to the scene shortly after, followed by the Alexandria Fire Department, which immediately began life-saving measures. The scene was secured by APD, and Acadian Ambulance Service arrived approximately 3-4 minutes later.
According to a press release from the Alexandria Police Department, officers responded to the 2900 block of Monroe Street around 8:27 PM on August 23, 2024. They discovered 37-year-old Willie Porter suffering from a gunshot wound. Porter was transported to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The Monroe Street homicide in Alexandria has heightened concerns among residents who are now questioning their safety.
