MAMOU, La. (3/6/2025) – A Mamou mass shooting on Tuesday night left two people dead and more than 12 injured during a Mardi Gras concert.
Authorities said gunfire erupted during an outdoor performance by Chris Ardoin, causing chaos as attendees ran for safety. Officials did not release the ages of the deceased, but witnesses on the scene claim they were juveniles.
Two of the 12 injured remain in critical condition. Authorities also confirmed that three additional people were injured in a separate shooting Monday night. Police believe there could be more victims and urge them to come forward.
A video shared on Facebook captured the moment gunshots rang out during the performance. Another video showed officers detaining three men, with at least one placed in handcuffs.
Authorities have identified one person of interest in custody but have not disclosed further details. The investigation into the Mamou mass shooting on Tuesday remains ongoing.
