GONZALES, La. (2/10/2025) – Louisiana State Police are investigating an oficer-involved shooting in Ascension Parish that occurred early Monday morning.
The incident happened near LA 44 and West Orice Roth Road around 1:00 a.m.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) requested state police assistance after deputies were involved in a confrontation. One subject sustained gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital, where they later died. No officers were injured.
Authorities are actively processing the scene and gathering evidence. Investigators urge anyone with information, pictures, or videos to assist by submitting tips through the Louisiana State Police online reporting system or calling the LSP Fusion Center Hotline at 1-800-434-8007.
