Lactaid Product Recall: Undeclared Almond Allergen Prompts Recall in Multiple States Including Louisiana

According to the Food and Drug Administration, HP Hood LLC has announced a Lactaid product recall. The recall involve 96 oz containers of Lactaid milk due to the possible presence of undeclared almond.

The recalled products, sold in Louisiana and several other states, may pose a significant risk to individuals with almond allergies. No illnesses have been reported as of the recall date.

The affected Lactaid milk containers were shipped to retailers between September 5 and September 18, 2024, across a wide range of states including Louisiana. Consumers who purchased the product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange. The recall applies to five SKUs of Lactaid milk varieties, specifically those marked with the code 51-4109 P2 and the corresponding expiration dates listed below.

This issue was discovered during routine maintenance at the manufacturing facility, which revealed the potential contamination. No cases of allergic reactions have been reported. Anyone with a known almond allergy should avoid consuming these products due to the risk of a severe reaction.
