Former Ball Police Officer pleads “NOT GUILTY” to all charges

UPDATE: Former Ball Police officer Randall Wilmore, 34, was arrested for Auto Theft, Burglary, and Malfeasance in Office. He pleads “NOT GUILTY” to all charges at his arraignment today.

Ball, La. (2/24/2022) – In late January 2022, Officers with the Ball Police Department responded to several burglaries of businesses. Ball Police identified the suspect as Randall Wayne Wilmore, 35, of Alexandria, an Officer with the Ball Police Department. Chief Marshal Deen contacted the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office to assist with the investigation.

As their investigation progressed, Sheriff’s Detectives linked Wilmore to evidence collected at the crime scenes. Deputies determined the probable cause and requested warrants for Wilmore’s arrest. Wilmore was arrested for three counts of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, nine counts Simple Burglary, Attempted Simple Burglary, nine counts of Malfeasance in Office, and Obstruction of Justice.

On February 24th, Sheriff’s Detectives took Wilmore into custody without incident.

Wilmore remains in jail at the time of this release; his bond is $276,000.00 bond.
