McComb, MS (6/26/2023) = According to the McComb Police Department, Danny Prenell, Jr. was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and disturbing a business.
Prenell, Jr. is suspected of shooting his wife, Gabriell Pernell, two times, and turning the gun on himself on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at a Hampton Inn Hotel around 3 pm.
When asked why was Prenell was not charged with some form of murder, McComb’s Police Chief Cloy said “you must prove a suspect’s intent was murder”, the aggravated domestic violence charge is a felony in Mississippi and the charges of disorderly conduct and disturbing a business are misdemeanors.
According to the Pike County Jail, Prenell’s bond is $500,000.
Mrs. Prenell’s condition continues to improved according to family members.
