Alexandria shooting leaves one critically injured on N. 13th Street

Alexandria, La. (4/19/2026) – An Alexandria shooting left one person critically injured Saturday evening, according to the Alexandria Police Department. The incident happened near N. 13th Street and Shirland Avenue.

Police responded around 6:00 PM on April 18, 2026. Officers arrived to find a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, supporters of UrbanCast reported seeing APD officers securing the scene. Officers placed police tape around the area and began canvassing for information.

At this time, investigators have not released details about a suspect or possible motive. However, the Alexandria Police Department confirmed the case remains active.
