Alexandria, LA (6/5/2023) – According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) Inmate Inquiry System, the man suspected of murdering the 18-year-old high school student was arrested.
Roosevelt Jauqvours London, Jr., 20, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. London’s bond is set at $1,000,000.
The family said Rapides Regional Hospital notified Alexandria Police Department (APD) on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at approximately 11:30 am that Skyler Jayden Delaney had been admitted with life-threatening injuries. Skyler passed away days later.
According to family members, APD eventually dispatched officers to Rapides Regional and confirmed the victim was in critical condition.
The family said the shooting occurred at the Royal Ridge Apartments, “Karst Park” on East Sycamore.
APD also arrested Bryan Wayne Ortego, 66, on May 4, 2023, in connection with the murder of Delaney. Oretego was charged with obstruction of justice and production, manufacturing, or dispensing CDS 1. Ortego was released on a $20,000 bond on May 5, 2023.
