18-year-old Deville man arrested for car burglaries

Deville, LA (5/18/2023) – The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office reported a Deville man was arrested for multiple car burglaries.

On April 2, 2023, Patrol Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Philadelphia Road in Deville, LA about multiple vehicle burglaries being reported.  Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainants, who advised early that morning, they discovered their vehicles were burglarized and several items were taken, including a firearm (s).  The case was assigned to detectives at the Colin Substation. 

Detectives obtained video footage, learned of unauthorized debits from bank accounts, determined a juvenile was involved, and the identity of the suspects. After determining sufficient probable cause, a search was obtained to search the residence of the adult suspect in the 1000 block of Philadelphia Road. Stolen property from the burglaries was recovered inside the residence.

James Waylon Tedder, 18, of Deville, Louisiana, was arrested at his residence without incident and booked in Rapides Detention Center #1. Tedder is charged with 6 counts of Simple Burglary, 4 counts of Criminal Conspiracy, 4 counts of Criminal Trespassing, 2 counts of Theft of a Firearm, 12 counts of Identity Theft< $300, and 9 out-of-state felony warrants through Virginia.  

The juvenile suspect in the case was cited and released to their family. Tedder remains in jail at the time of this release, being held on a $43,000.00 bond.
