Boyce: Two men were arrested for cruelty to the infirm after their mother died; bond was set at $200,000 each

Boyce, LA (4/4/2023) – The Boyce Police Department (BPD) reported the arrest of two men concerning the death of Ethel Glynn, 88, of Boyce, Louisiana. 

According to BPD, the Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office contacted BPD on March 22, 2023, and requested the department investigate the death of Ms. Ethel Glynn, 88. BPD said the coroner’s office had received a report from the medical staff at a local hospital regarding “deplorable state” of Ms. Glynn when admitted via ambulance.

BPD Detectives began their investigation and discovered that the care of Ms. Glynn reached the level of criminality. Family members called an ambulance service to take Ms. Glynn to the hospital due to her condition.

Ms. Glynn lived with her primary caregivers, two sons in a home located in Boyce, Louisiana.  

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m. James Mccoy, 66, and Kevin Glynn, 56, were arrested on a warrant for cruelty to the infirm.

The two brothers were arrested at their residence in Boyce and booked Rapides Dentention Center 1. Glynn and McCoy’s bond was set to $200,000 each.
