After receiving the latest update from the national weather center, we have been advised that Rapides Parish can expect sustained winds over 30 mph after 3 o’clock this afternoon.
This creates an unsafe situation for our school buses. Therefore, we are initiating plans to dismiss schools at 1 o’clock this afternoon. All after-school events and the Peabody Feeder System community event are canceled.
While we apologize for the inconvenience, we do hope you understand our need for caution regarding the safety of our students and employees.
We expect to be fully operational again tomorrow morning. Let’s continue to show the world. The rapids parish truly is better together.
