CLTCC Joins Expanded CHRISTUS Cabrini Cohort Program

New partnership will provide educational debt assistance and a direct employment pathway for Practical Nursing graduates

Alexandria, La. — (7/22/2026) — Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) is joining the expanded CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Cohort Program, creating a new opportunity for eligible Practical Nursing students to receive educational debt assistance and pursue employment with CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini following graduation and licensure.

Through the program, five CLTCC Practical Nursing students will be selected for the upcoming cohort. Participants may receive up to $25,000 toward eligible educational debt and will have a direct pathway to employment with CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini after successfully completing the Practical Nursing program, obtaining licensure and satisfying applicable employment requirements.

“This partnership represents the kind of meaningful investment that can change the trajectory of a student’s life while also strengthening Central Louisiana’s healthcare workforce,” said CLTCC Chancellor Dr. Heather S. Poole. “By helping reduce the financial burden associated with completing a nursing education and providing a clear pathway to employment, CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini is helping our students move confidently from the classroom into rewarding careers serving our region.”

“We have a powerful opportunity to help strengthen and sustain our communities by continuing to invest in and grow a reliable healthcare workforce,” said Monte Wilson, CEO of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Health System. “We are proud to partner with CLTCC to prepare the next generation of highly skilled caregivers while helping reduce the educational debt burden for students entering the nursing profession.”

The cohort program is designed to support students as they complete their education and transition into the nursing workforce. Selected participants must remain in good academic and behavioral standing and complete all applicable program, licensure and employment requirements.

Educational debt assistance will be paid directly to the qualifying entity that holds the participant’s eligible student or education loan.

CLTCC is the No. 1 producer of licensed practical nurses in Louisiana, preparing graduates to provide safe, patient-centered care in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and other healthcare settings.
