Meanwhile, Alexandria Police officers and crime scene detectives remained visible at the scene throughout the morning. Their presence suggests an active investigation. Still, the public has not received confirmation regarding the nature of the incident.
UrbanCast submitted a request for information to the City of Alexandria. Specifically, we asked whether there is any threat to public safety and requested any details available for public release.
Records previously obtained by UrbanCast show that media inquiries and public relations for the City of Alexandria are coordinated through the office of Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Michael Caffery. In a July 2024 email to UrbanCast, a city representative stated that Caffery coordinated all media inquiries and public relations for the city.
At this time, no response has been received, and no public statement has been located on the city’s known communication platforms.
UrbanCast will continue monitoring the situation and will provide updates if city officials release information or if additional facts become available.
