RAPIDES PARISH, La. (5/29/2026) — The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported drive-by shooting that occurred Friday evening in the 5000 block of Lanny Street, just outside the Alexandria city limits off Louisiana Highway 1 North.
Deputies responded to the area at approximately 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
Sheriff’s Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene and begin their investigation.
According to preliminary information, an altercation involving juveniles occurred earlier in the day. Investigators believe one of the subjects allegedly returned to the area and fired shots.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
