Montgomery Public Works Superintendent Arrested Following Grant Parish Investigation

Montgomery, La. (5/22/2026) – The superintendent of public works for the Town of Montgomery is facing multiple charges following an investigation by the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Willard Wesley Ferrier Jr., 61, of Montgomery, on charges of theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, unauthorized use of a movable, and malfeasance in office.

According to investigators, Ferrier allegedly took items belonging to the Town of Montgomery and later sold them.

Authorities said Ferrier also used a town-owned vehicle during the incidents connected to the investigation.

The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office did not release additional details regarding the value of the items involved or where the property was allegedly sold.

Meanwhile, the investigation remains ongoing.

Ferrier was booked into custody following the investigation conducted by the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office is located at 205 Cypress Street in Colfax.
