Bunkie, La. (4/7/2026) — Bunkie police are investigating a shooting that left a man wounded in the face Monday night.
The shooting happened around 10:28 p.m. near the intersection of Keller Street and South Mable Street. Police say they received multiple calls reporting shots fired in the area.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. First responders treated him at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital by Acadian Ambulance.
According to investigators, the victim and several others were walking to a friend’s house for haircuts when a man approached and began firing multiple rounds. The victim was struck in the face.
Police have not released the victim’s condition. They have also not identified a suspect at this time.
Investigators say they are actively working the case, processing evidence, and gathering statements.
