Pedestrian Rachel Tate Dies After Crash on Masonic Drive in Alexandria

Alexandria, La. (3/13/2026) – A Masonic Drive pedestrian crash is under investigation after a woman died from injuries sustained in Alexandria earlier this week.

The Alexandria Police Department responded Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Officers arrived at the 5100 block of Masonic Drive following reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

According to police, the pedestrian was identified as 43-year-old Rachel Tate. Emergency responders transported Tate to a local hospital. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators stated they have found no indication that driver impairment contributed to the crash. Nevertheless, officials conducted routine toxicology tests as part of the investigation. Those results remain pending.

Meanwhile, detectives continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident. As a result, authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
