NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (2/20/2026) — A multi-agency pursuit that began in DeSoto Parish ended Tuesday afternoon in Natchitoches Parish after the suspect crashed along Interstate 49.
At approximately 1:13 p.m., the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the NATCOM 911 Center requesting assistance with a vehicle pursuit traveling southbound on I-49 into Natchitoches Parish, according to a press release from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Natchitoches Police Department deployed multiple units along the I-49 corridor. Tire deflation devices were set up in an effort to safely stop the fleeing vehicle.
During the pursuit, the driver reportedly lost control, exited the roadway on the left side, and struck the median cable barriers before coming to a stop.
An adult male from California, identified as the driver, was taken into custody without incident. Authorities confirmed there were no reported injuries. The driver was evaluated on scene by EMS personnel and later released.
He has been booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. Additional charges are pending in DeSoto Parish.
Agencies involved in the pursuit included the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police Troop G (Shreveport), the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Natchitoches Police Department.
