ALEXANDRIA, La. (2/19/2026) — An Alexandria homicide Bolton Avenue happened early Thursday morning. Calvin Lee Jr., 37, died from his injuries. Police filed multiple felony charges against the suspect. The total bond is set at $1,001,000.
According to the Alexandria Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:29 a.m. on February 19, 2026, to a reported stabbing in the 700 block of Bolton Avenue. Responding officers located Lee suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police arrested 44-year-old Michael Steven Hargrove in connection with the case. APD announced he was charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Booking information from the Rapides Parish inmate inquiry system shows Hargrove was booked at 8:39 a.m. on February 19, 2026, and is being held at Rapides Parish Detention Center 1.

APD has not released details explaining whether the burglary charge is directly connected to the fatal stabbing. The burglary charge carries the same offense date of February 19, 2026, but investigators have not clarified how it relates to the homicide.
Under Louisiana law, second-degree murder includes killings committed with specific intent to kill or inflict great bodily harm, as well as certain felony-murder circumstances. The charge carries a mandatory life sentence at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence if convicted.
