AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (2/5/2026) — Avoyelles Parish deputies arrested a registered sex offender following a child pornography investigation.
The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office worked with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation began in January 2026.
Detectives identified Glenn Batiste Jr., 25, of Mansura, as a suspect. Investigators allege he possessed, distributed, downloaded, and viewed child pornography.
Authorities said Batiste is a convicted sex offender registered in Avoyelles Parish. He was already on probation with Louisiana Probation and Parole.
That probation stemmed from an August 2021 arrest. Deputies previously charged him with 20 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
On February 4, 2026, deputies executed search warrants connected to the active investigation. As a result, officers arrested Batiste without incident.
Prosecutors charged Batiste with ten counts of pornography involving juveniles. The charges fall under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1.
Authorities booked Batiste into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office DC-1 Jail Facility. A judge set his bond at $250,000.
Officials said Batiste remains incarcerated. Meanwhile, investigators continue the case, and additional charges may follow.
Sheriff David L. Dauzat praised the collaborative effort. He said agencies remain committed to protecting children and community safety.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
