Former Alexandria Police Officer Killed in Train Accident While on Duty in Bossier Parish

Bossier Parish, La. (1/21/2026) – A former Alexandria Police Officer was killed in a train accident Wednesday morning while working a traffic detail in Bossier Parish.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed Deputy Tim Jordan died after a train struck him around 8:00 a.m. Authorities said he was performing a traffic assignment at the time.

According to preliminary information, Deputy Jordan may have misjudged the distance between his vehicle and the train track. As a result, the train struck him while passing through the area.

Emergency responders transported Deputy Jordan to Ochsner LSU Hospital. However, he later died from his injuries.

Deputy Jordan served four years with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office. Before that, he worked as an officer with the Alexandria Police Department.

Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington called the loss devastating. He said Deputy Jordan served with dedication and took pride in protecting the community.

Meanwhile, the Louisiana State Police have assumed responsibility for the investigation. Officials said they will release additional details as they become available.

The Sheriff’s Office asked the public to keep Deputy Jordan’s family, friends, and coworkers in their prayers during this difficult time.

The UrbanCast Team extends sincere condolences to Deputy Jordan’s family, colleagues, and the law enforcement communities of Bossier Parish and Alexandria. We honor his service and recognize the sacrifice made in the line of duty.
