Alexandria, La. (1/12/2026) – Search warrant leads to drug arrests in Alexandria following a joint law enforcement operation early Monday morning.
Alexandria police executed a search warrant Monday, January 12, 2026, around 6:00 a.m., in the 3800 block of Ellis Street. Officers worked alongside Louisiana State Police and Louisiana Probation and Parole during the operation.
As a result, investigators seized about $76,000 in cash, marijuana, and a stolen handgun from the residence. Authorities identified the location as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Meanwhile, officers arrested Markeese Dorsey, 24, as the target of the investigation. Police charged Dorsey with Distribution of CDS-1, while additional charges remain pending.
Alexandria Police Department thanked Louisiana State Police and Probation and Parole for their assistance. Officials said the collaboration proved instrumental to the operation’s success.
Investigators confirmed the case remains active and ongoing.
