Alexandria, La. (1/9/2025) – Shots fired Grundy Copper Subdivision prompted a heavy law enforcement response Thursday night, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call reporting gunfire near Benjamin Street and Cloverleaf Boulevard.
According to initial information, the victim reported three suspects approached their vehicle while it was parked on the roadway.
The suspects were described as two Black males and one Black female, all dressed in black.
Investigators said one male suspect allegedly fired shots toward the vehicle, striking it.
The victim immediately drove to a safe location and then contacted law enforcement for assistance.
Meanwhile, the suspects fled the area before deputies arrived.
Patrol deputies responded along with RPSO K-9 and the Crime Suppression Unit, but they did not locate the suspects.
Shortly afterward, Sheriff’s Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit arrived to continue the investigation.
At this time, detectives say the investigation remains ongoing and believe the incident appears isolated.
Authorities are asking residents in the Grundy Copper Subdivision to review security footage from the area.
Anyone with video of three individuals walking along Benjamin Street or Cloverleaf Boulevard is urged to come forward.
