The broad daylight shooting in Alexandria happened Saturday in the 3600 block of 6th Street. Police responded at 4:15 pm and found 20-year-old Christopher Howard Jr. deceased from a gunshot wound.

UrbanCast arrived at the scene around 5:30 pm as officers continued securing the area. Units from APD and RPSO remained on site. Fire crews also assisted. Neighbors watched from porches and driveways, shaken by the violence.

Police have not released a motive or suspect information, and the investigation remains active. They also did not say whether this shooting is isolated or connected to the string of violence reported across the city this past week.

Fear, Frustration, and Disbelief

After UrbanCast released the initial report, residents shared fear, frustration, and disbelief. Some expressed anger at the continued violence. One person said, “This is just sad. Very sad.
