NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA (11/5/2025) – Federal authorities indicted Corey Johnson, 35, for making a bomb threat at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
The indictment was returned on November 20, 2025. Corey Johnson indicted for bomb threat stems from a dispute over unpaid parking fees.
According to court documents, Johnson was arrested on November 7 after threatening airport operations. He argued with staff about parking costs. Then he called AVCOM twice and claimed a bomb was inside the airport. He also threatened to harm the AVCOM operator.
The threats triggered an investigation by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Officers reviewed the earlier parking lot incident. Consequently, they identified Johnson as the caller and arrested him.
If convicted, Johnson faces a maximum of ten years in federal prison. He also faces a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
Acting United States Attorney Michael M. Simpson said the indictment is only a charge. He noted that Johnson’s guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Simpson praised the work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Saint Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Spiro G. Latsis of the General Crimes Unit leads the prosecution.
Officials will release more information as the case develops.
