Acadia Parish Sheriff Seeks Travis Cormier After Violent Escape

Mire, LA (11/14/2025) – The Acadia Parish Sheriff seeks Travis Cormier after a violent escape during an attempted arrest. The incident happened on November 13, 2025. Authorities attempted to serve several warrants on Cormier in Mire.

However, Cormier used his vehicle to ram a police unit occupied by a deputy. The impact caused heavy damage. Moments later, he tried to hit another deputy who was on foot. The deputy suffered injuries during the attempt.

Cormier then drove into a wooded area and fled on foot. Deputies searched the area, yet they did not locate him. The sheriff now asks for public assistance.

Cormier faces charges that include attempted first degree murder on a peace officer. He also faces charges for aggravated criminal damage, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, hit and run driving, negligent injuring, and flight from an officer. He is also wanted for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

Travis Christopher Cormier is 36 years old. He is five feet eight inches tall and weighs 153 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities believe he remains in the Mire area.
