Alexandria, La. (11/10/2025) – UrbanCast has confirmed new information connected to our earlier report, Authorities Investigate Shooting Death in Alexandria Outskirts (November 9, 2025). Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office officials have now identified the deceased man as 33-year-old Davante Deundra Thomas of Alexandria.
According to RPSO, patrol deputies responded to the 1800 block of Henry Street around 7:36 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The call came in as a home invasion. Investigators say Thomas allegedly kicked in the door of a residence while armed with a handgun and fired at the homeowner. The homeowner then returned fire, striking Thomas.
When deputies arrived, they found Thomas dead inside the home, still holding a firearm. Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit processed the residence for evidence throughout the morning.
This confirmation links the earlier reported shooting death near the Alexandria outskirts to the home invasion on Henry Street. The Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office continues its investigation, and an autopsy remains pending.
