Alexandria, La. (9/19/2025) – The Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist killed in Thursday’s accident on the Curtis Coleman Bridge.
Authorities said Mr. Kerry Janet, 34, of Pineville, died on September 18, 2025, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center emergency room from injuries sustained in the crash.
On Thursday, UrbanCast reported that the crash near the Curtis Coleman Bridge involved a motorcycle and a possible unidentified vehicle. The incident caused major traffic delays into Pineville, and witnesses said authorities also appeared to be looking into the river as part of the response.
The Alexandria Police Department previously stated: “APD is on scene at a traffic crash near 3rd St. and US 71 at the Curtis Coleman Bridge. Expect lane closures and delays. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.” State Police, Alexandria Police, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development responded to the scene.
At this time, the City of Alexandria has not released additional information regarding the accident or the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
