Pineville, LA (9/12/2025) – Pineville City Councilman Tom Bouchie, who has represented District 4 since 2002, announced he will resign from his position effective December 31, 2025. Bouchie also confirmed he will not seek a seventh term in the 2026 elections, saying the decision will allow him to spend more time with his family and grandchildren in Texas.
“This was a difficult decision, but one that will allow more time to spend with my family and grandchildren in the nearby State of Texas,” Bouchie wrote in his letter to Pineville citizens.
Legacy of Service
Bouchie described serving the City of Pineville as “one of the greatest honors of my life,” adding, “I want to thank the citizens of District 4 for placing their trust in me since 2002. I have tried my best to serve you, and all Pineville residents, with openness and honesty and have always put the needs of our citizens ahead of my own.”
During his 24-year tenure, Bouchie highlighted several milestones:
- Economic Growth: “We helped bring growth to Pineville by creating a welcoming environment for all businesses which saved and created many new jobs.”
- Community Development: “New subdivisions were built and home ownership increased.”
- Alcohol Sales Decision: “We went through the difficult process of allowing restaurants to sell alcohol which eventually led to our citizens having a say in whether alcohol sales would be allowed inside the city limits.”
- Infrastructure Investment: “We have and continue to replace and repair infrastructure setting Pineville up for decades of more growth.”
Bouchie also expressed confidence in the city’s fiscal health, writing, “I am grateful that Pineville is financially sound.”
Words of Gratitude
Bouchie thanked Pineville employees, past and present mayors, and fellow council members for their collaboration, saying, “Thank you…for making this 24-year journey one I will remember fondly.”
He concluded his letter with a personal message: “I will keep all of you in my prayers and I ask for your prayers as my family and I begin a new journey. May God continue to bless the City of Pineville.”
