Alexandria/Pineville, La. (8/31/2025) – The Peabody Magnet High School Class of 1985 40th Reunion brought together about 75 classmates this weekend for three days of reflection, reconnection, and celebration across Alexandria and Pineville.
The reunion kicked off Friday, August 29, with the Jamboree Football Game at Pineville High School, followed by a Meet and Greet Social at the Alpha House in Alexandria. On Saturday, alumni toured Peabody Magnet High School, enjoyed lunch at Walk-On’s, bowled at Four Seasons, and shared laughter and memories.
Reunion Banquet Highlights
The weekend’s main event was the Reunion Banquet on Saturday night at the Pineville Country Inn & Suites. The program was led by Master and Mistress of Ceremony Terrance Bailey and Gina Burrell and opened with a welcome from Denise M. Jackson and music by Charmilla Foreman.
The program included a History of Peabody Magnet High School by Melissa Belmon-Scott, an update on the Peabody Eighty-Five Education Foundation by Andre Bonton, and a dinner blessing from Felicia Thomas-Allen.
Jeffery Franklin introduced the distinguished speaker, Kenneth J. Coutee, who delivered a keynote message encouraging classmates to “leave a legacy not just for others but also for ourselves, so that future generations have the opportunity for enhanced education.” The program also featured music by Eddie Howard and a Remembrance Tribute led by Karen Johnson, with prayer offered by Travis Davidson.
Faith and Fellowship
The reunion concluded Sunday, August 31, with a church service at Servants of Christ Church in Alexandria. Scripture was rendered by the Class of 1985’s own Minister Travis Davidson, who spoke from Acts 17:22-28 under the theme “God is the One.” A family picnic at Rocky Creek Camp in Pineville closed out the weekend with fellowship and joy.
Reflections and Legacy
Committee member Felicia Glover Calbert said the reunion offers more than just nostalgia,“it’s a chance for graduates to celebrate enduring friendships and reflect on the legacy of Peabody Magnet High School.”
The 40th reunion was made possible by a dedicated committee led by Chair Travis Davidson, Co-Chair Fredrick (Bo) Nash, and a team of committed classmates.
