Vernon Parish, LA (7/5/2025) – Louisiana State Police Troop E is requesting the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash that occurred on July 3, 2025, shortly after 1:14 a.m.
According to Troop E, the incident happened on U.S. Highway 171 near Parker’s Welding, south of Entrance Road. A pedestrian walking along the southbound shoulder was struck by an unknown southbound vehicle that left the roadway.
The pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a 2010-2014 Chevrolet Equinox, dark in color, with damage to the right side of the vehicle.
Troopers urge anyone with information about the crash or the vehicle’s whereabouts to contact Troop E at (318) 487-5911.
This crash remains under investigation.
