Pineville, LA (May 13, 2025) – A Pineville man was arrested after detectives connected him to a burglary that involved the theft of multiple firearms, a vehicle, and credit card fraud.
On May 8, 2025, patrol deputies at the Tioga Substation took a walk-in complaint regarding a burglary and motor vehicle theft that occurred in the Pineville-Tioga area. The report was forwarded to Tioga Substation detectives for follow-up.
Through their investigation, detectives determined that approximately 15 firearms and a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali were stolen during the burglary. In addition, around $7,000 in unauthorized charges had been made on a credit card reported stolen by the victim.
Detectives identified the suspect as 41-year-old Brandon Dale Smith Sr. of Pineville. Sufficient probable cause was established for his arrest on multiple felony charges.
On May 12, 2025
On May 12, 2025, with assistance from the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole, Smith was located and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center, where he remains in custody on a $180,000 bond.
All 15 stolen firearms and the Yukon Denali have been recovered by sheriff’s detectives.
