TIOGA, LA (5/2/2025) – A Ball man was arrested after an investigation into trespassing and property damage on Rigolette Road in Tioga.
On April 27, 2025, Rapides Parish Patrol Deputies responded to a criminal trespassing and damage complaint.
The victim reported that someone had trespassed and destroyed several levee gates. Deputies took the report and assigned Tioga Substation Detectives to investigate.
Detectives identified the suspect as James Richard Barlow, 34, of Ball, Louisiana. They gathered enough evidence to obtain arrest warrants for Barlow. He faced three counts of criminal trespassing, three counts of property damage between $1,000 and $50,000, and theft under $1,000.
Additionally, a witness claimed Barlow falsely identified himself as a law enforcement officer during the trespassing. Detectives secured a warrant for false personation of a peace officer.
On April 28, 2025, authorities located Barlow at his residence. He was advised of the warrants and taken into custody without incident. Deputies booked him into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
The Ball man arrested was released on April 30, 2025, after posting a $31,000 bond.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
