LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (3/27/2025) – A Livingston Parish school bus crash occurred Thursday morning on Highway 16 near Live Oak Ballpark in Watson.
The crash, which happened just after 6:30 a.m., involved LPPS Bus #B888 and a passenger vehicle. The bus was transporting 55 students to Live Oak High and Live Oak Junior High.
The driver of the other vehicle was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Some students on the bus sustained minor injuries. Officials released them into the care of their parents or transported them to school.
School principals and Livingston Parish central office staff responded to the scene immediately.
Parents of all students were contacted. Those not picked up by a parent were taken to their respective schools.
The bus sustained damage and will be towed to the LPPS transportation center for a full inspection and necessary repairs.
The Livingston Parish school bus crash remains under investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
