Alexandria Man Charged With 100 Counts First-Degree Rape Sentenced to 15 Years

ALEXANDRIA, La. (3/14/2025) – An Alexandria man charged with 100 counts first-degree rape involving a minor pleaded guilty to second-degree rape and received a 15-year sentence.

Israel Jermaine Williams, 40, initially faced additional charges including molestation of a juvenile under 13, obstruction of justice, issuing worthless checks, and contempt of court.

The investigation began in summer 2021 after Pensacola Florida Police alerted the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office about possible sex trafficking linked to Alexandria. Detectives from the Special Victims Unit quickly identified Williams as the primary suspect.

Following an extensive investigation supported by multiple agencies, including the Children’s Advocacy Center and Cenla Child Trafficking Task Force, Williams was arrested without incident on March 25, 2022. He was initially held on a bond exceeding $5 million.

Assistant District Attorney Kelvin Sanders prosecuted the case, while E. Talley served as Williams’ defense attorney. After multiple hearings to determine competency and sanity, Williams was ultimately deemed capable to stand trial.

On March 10, 2025, Williams withdrew his original plea and entered a guilty plea to second-degree rape. The court sentenced him to 15 years at hard labor with credit for time already served. Additionally, Williams must register as a sex offender for life and was ordered to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family.
