LEESVILLE, La. (2/9/2025) – The Leesville shooting early Sunday morning left one person dead and two others injured. Leesville Police responded to the incident on South 5th Street shortly after midnight on February 9, 2025.
An initial investigation revealed that multiple people were involved in a parking lot altercation outside a local business. One individual opened fire and then fled the scene.
Emergency responders transported three victims to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. Authorities later identified one victim as 30-year-old Trevon Hairston of Leesville, who succumbed to his injuries. The other two victims required further treatment at separate hospitals.
Chief Beth Westlake thanked the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office, New Llano Police Department, and Louisiana State Police for assisting at the scene.
