Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). High blood pressure, a major contributor to heart disease, affects nearly half of U.S. adults. Unfortunately, only 1 in 4 individuals with high blood pressure have it under control.

By providing these free blood pressure check events, Rapides Regional Medical Center emphasizes its commitment to improving community health. Along with the screenings, attendees will receive educational resources to better understand and manage their heart health.

Rapides Regional Medical Center serves 16 central Louisiana parishes, offering state-of-the-art medical care since 1903. As part of its mission to provide high-quality, compassionate healthcare, the center is proud to support initiatives like these that promote wellness and prevention.
