CLAIBORNE PARISH, La. (2/1/2025) – Louisiana State Police dismantled a drug trafficking organization in Claiborne Parish, leading to multiple arrests and significant drug and firearm seizures. The months-long investigation began in May 2024 with the Louisiana State Police Bossier Field Office Narcotics and the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office, uncovering an extensive network involved in illegal drug distribution.
On January 31, 2025, law enforcement executed multiple search warrants at locations connected to the organization. Agencies assisting included the Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Bossier City Police Department, Minden Police Department, David Wade Correctional Facility, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service, and Arkansas State Police.
Arrests and Charges
Authorities arrested the following individuals in connection with the drug trafficking operation:
• Kevin D. Thompson, 42 – Racketeering, drug distribution
• Robert L. Simmons, 38 – Racketeering, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
• Marcus J. Brown, 45 – Racketeering, possession of firearms by a convicted felon
• James T. Carter, 39 – Racketeering, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
• Eric M. Henderson, 41 – Racketeering, money laundering
• Derrick R. Lewis, 37 – Racketeering, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
• Anthony B. Douglas, 50 – Racketeering, illegal possession of a controlled substance
• Charles D. Johnson, 36 – Attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Terrance M. Wright, 43 – Active felony warrant (Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office)
• Michael J. Reynolds, 48 – Active felony warrant (Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office)
• Latasha P. Green, 40 – Active felony warrant (Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office)
• Brian K. Williams, 46 – Active felony warrant (Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office)
Seized Contraband
During the operation, officers confiscated:
• Seven firearms
• Over $5,000 in cash
• More than 20 grams of crack cocaine
• Over eight pounds of marijuana
• Over one pound of methamphetamine
