Natchitoches, LA (October 3, 2024) – A two-month investigation has resulted in a Natchitoches Police Officer’s arrest for anabolic steroid distribution.
According to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright, the arrest followed a tip suggesting a law enforcement officer was selling illegal anabolic steroids.
The investigation, led by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives, focused on the illegal sale of anabolic steroids, a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance. Anabolic steroids are often misused to increase muscle mass and enhance physical performance. Detectives gathered enough evidence to obtain an arrest warrant for Natchitoches Police Officer Jonas McFerrin.
McFerrin, 36, was arrested on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau. He faces two counts of distribution of anabolic steroids and one count of malfeasance in office. Sheriff Wright confirmed the Natchitoches Police Department had been briefed about the arrest.
McFerrin, who currently resides in Rapides Parish, was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will not be released at this time.
