In a heartening testament to perseverance and faith, Felicia, a 45-year-old wife, mother, and grandmother, has defied all odds by obtaining her HiSET diploma through CLTCC’s Adult Education Program.
Reflecting on her journey, Felicia shares her initial disbelief at the prospect of graduating with her HiSET at this stage in life. “If you would have mentioned to me that I would be graduating with my HiSET at 45, I would have laughed and said, ‘not in this lifetime,'” she admits. Yet, despite the obstacles and self-doubt, Felicia embraced God’s plan for her and took a leap of faith.
“I had every excuse in the world not to go through with completing my studies,” Felicia recalls, citing feelings of embarrassment and vulnerability. However, she soon realized that God had a different plan for her. “When God tells you to move, you must trust Him and MOVE,” she asserts, emphasizing the importance of obedience to divine calling.
Felicia’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of faith and determination. She acknowledges the treasures that await those who heed the call of God, including the fulfillment of her educational aspirations. “Part of my calling was to complete my HiSET and further my education,” she shares, highlighting the guidance she received from above.
As Felicia celebrates her achievement, she extends words of encouragement to others contemplating a return to education. “You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus,” she declares, urging bravery, strength, and courage in pursuing one’s dreams, regardless of age.
