Two Arrested in Connection with Narcotics-Related Deaths and Attempted Murders

Gardner, LA (3/22/2024) — On March 16th, 2024, at approximately 11 PM, Patrol Deputies responded to a medical emergency report on Perkins Road, Gardner.

Upon arrival, responders discovered four unresponsive individuals at the scene, prompting life-saving efforts. Tragically, two individuals were already deceased, while the other two were rushed to a local hospital for urgent treatment.

Sheriff’s Detectives initiated an investigation, with evidence suggesting the involvement of illegal narcotics in the fatalities. Collaborating with RADE Agents and officers from Woodworth PD, detectives identified a suspect, Jett Miller, 33, of Boyce. Following the execution of a search warrant at a nearby residence, detectives obtained sufficient evidence to secure arrest warrants for Miller.

Miller was apprehended on March 18th without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on charges of contempt of court and second-degree murder. Subsequent investigations led to additional charges, including an additional count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder. Miller remains incarcerated on a bond set at $3,501,500.00.

Further probing revealed that Miller did not act alone. Dominique Jerel Roland, 35, of Alexandria, was identified as another suspect. Arrest warrants were issued for Roland on charges including second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, possession of Fentanyl, criminal conspiracy, and contempt of court. He was apprehended at his residence without incident and is currently held at the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $3,308,500.00 bond.

Sheriff’s Detectives emphasize that the investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional arrests. Anyone with pertinent information is urged to contact Detective Matt Cross at 318-473-6727, the RADE Unit at 318-445-0357, or Crime Stoppers at 318-443-7867.
