Avoyelles Parish, LA (2/20/2024) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash on Clyde Smith Road at approximately 12:50 p.m.
The crash resulted in the deaths of Carrington Ramos, 34, from Bunkie, and Elliot Charles Jordan III, 30, from Marksville.
Investigations revealed that Ramos, driving a 2008 Acura RDX southbound on Clyde Smith Road, veered off the roadway, descended the embankment, and collided with a tree.
Neither Ramos nor Jordan were wearing seat belts at the time, resulting in fatal injuries for both individuals. Routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis.
Troop E has responded to five fatal crashes, resulting in six deaths, in 2024. Authorities urge the community to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols while traveling on roadways.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to come forward.
