Natchitoches, LA (12/27/2023) – The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) is investigating a homicide that occurred early Tuesday, December 26, 2023, off of Texas Street.
On December 26, 2023, around 1:33 a.m., officers with NPD were dispatched to the 300 block of Texas Street about a gunshot victim in the parking lot. Upon the officer’s arrival, they were told that the victim, Marcus Sowell, 23, of Natchitoches, was taken to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center by a personal vehicle. Marcus Sowell was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
This investigation is ongoing, and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
