Louisiana (12/26/2023) – The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office reported two house fires involving fatalities.
Just after 8 a.m., Tuesday, December 26, a house fire was reported in the 11000 block of Highway 190 W in Opelousas. Unfortunately, crews from St. Landry Fire District #3 located one victim inside.
Then, just before 8:30 a.m., the Ouachita Parish Fire Department responded to the 700 block of Larry Henry Road in West Monroe. Firefighters learned an elderly husband and wife had been inside at the time; however, the disabled man was unable to escape.
These investigations are active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
