Boyce: Will hold an open forum to discuss the defunding of Boyce PD

Boyce, LA (8/29/2023) – On Monday, August 28, 20238, the Boyce Town Council voted to defund the Boyce Police Department (BPD), leaving the department with one officer and the Chief of Police, Ronald L. Goudeau.

Mayor Kelvin Mccoy is not expected to veto the measure, which received a unanimous vote. BPD, under the leadership of Chief Ronald L. Goudeau, has had full coverage of the Town with more convictions for violent crimes in the history of the Boyce Police Department. Please note the town’s leaders are all Democrats.

According to a town official, the crime rate of break-ins before Chief Goudeau was astronomical.   The town of Boyce, with full coverage, has become one of the safest small towns in the Parish and the State.

The town is having an open meeting with the citizens of Boyce on Thursday, 8/31/2023, at 6:00 p.m. at The Julius Patrick Civic Center, located at 720 Mayo Street, Boyce, La. 71409.
