Ville Platte, LA (8/26/2023) – Shots were fired outside of the Ville Platte High School Jamboree on Friday evening.
According to authorities, the shots came from the neighborhood just outside of the school’s campus. Authorities said no injuries were reported.
One parent said on Facebook:
"This so so sickening! My poor baby girl is traumatized by this! Praying for everyone who had to experience this incident! It’s sad you can’t even enjoy high school sports in Ville Platte anymore! I have to edit my post: those people trying to argue the fact that it was on a side street of the field and not on the field are just as much the problem as the problem itself! So many CHILDREN were in danger and if that doesn’t bother you, you need mental help! It’s frustrating to see the amount of people on this post trying to justify this situation!"
