A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Central Louisiana through this afternoon until 4 pm. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop today and produce very heavy rainfall.

Rainfall amounts are expected to be in the 1 to 3-inch range, with locally higher totals. These amounts will likely fall in a short period of time and over some locations that already have wet grounds.

Remember, where water covers the roadway, Turn Around, and Don’t Drown!

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 1 pm and 4 pm, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 81. South wind 10 to 15 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. 

Tonight

Showers likely before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. 

Friday

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. South wind around
